On Tuesday the 25th of January, our TYs along with their teachers, Ms.Rappoport, Ms.Hackett and TY Co-Ordinator Ms.Glascott, went on a wilderness survival trip to Glengarra Woods near Cahir. The girls set off from school at 09:20 and arrived at their destination at 10:15. From there, they enjoyed a long walk through the woods until they reached where they would take on the wilderness! Everyone engaged in the survival activities which included building shelters and lighting fires. Each class group worked together and everyone had a great time. There was some friendly competition between the classes to win the prize of a pizza party for the best shelter, fire and teamwork. Once the huts were built and the fires were burning bright everyone cooked s’mores over the flames and enjoyed a singsong. At 14:30, the groups gathered to make the walk back to the buses and arrived back at the school at 15:30. It was a very memorable and exciting day, one that the students won’t forget.
