First Year Football
This year saw a strong turnout for First Year football, with students eager to participate and represent the school. From the start, the group showed real talent, enthusiasm, and commitment, turning up week after week to train and improve.
As the season progressed, one of the standout moments was a well-deserved win over Ursuline in a competitive and enjoyable friendly. The team also took part in a Tipperary Blitz, where they were superb, showcasing their progress and teamwork against schools from across the county.
The spirit among the squad was a real highlight. There was strong support and encouragement on the pitch or on the sidelines. It’s been a great foundation year, and there’s plenty to be excited about moving forward. With continued commitment, this group has the potential to achieve a lot in the years ahead.
Junior Football
This year’s Junior Football team showed great determination and development throughout their campaign. With strong numbers and a committed group of players, there was a real sense of focus from the first training session. Under the steady leadership of captain Abbey Challen, the team worked hard to improve and support one another.
The season began with a tough loss to Loreto Clonmel but saw a strong response in their second game, earning a 4-10 to 2-13 win over John the Baptist. Their final fixture was a thrilling contest against Ursuline, where they were narrowly beaten 2-11 to 3-5 after a last-minute penalty. Despite the result, it was one of their strongest performances and a clear sign of their growth.
The season was marked by steady improvement in skills, teamwork, and confidence on the pitch. With this strong foundation, the group is well positioned to build on their success in the years ahead.
