Turas go dtí An Ghaeltacht
Is féidir liom a rá nach ndéanfaidh mé dearmad go deo ar an dhá lá a chaith mé sa Ghaeltacht. D'fhan mé i dtigh Betty agus Pádraig Firtéar le mo chairde. Bhí céilí iontach againn gach oíche sa halla i gCeann Trá chomh maith le Zumba leictreach. Chuamar ar thuras aoibhinn agus chonaiceamar radharcanna álainne Chinn Sleá - Gallaras , Ionad an Bhlascaoid, Trá Choimíneoil agus uaigh Pheig Sayers. Ní dhéanfaidh mé dearmad chomh maith ar na “penguins” sa Mara Beo agus an mhaidin ghleoite a chaith mé ag cadhcáil. Ó thús go deireadh bhí an bia den chéad scoth chomh maith leis an uachtar reoite. Ní féidir cuairt a thabhairt ar Chorca Dhuibhne gan cuairt a thabhairt ar Kool Scoops nó Murphys!! Le Emily Ní Chearúil, An Idirbhliain.

East Munster Schools’ Track & Field
The East Munster Schools’ Track and Field Championship is an important date for anyone who wants to progress past their own county level in athletics. It is an opportunity for all athletes, if they qualify through the Munster stages, to run for their school in a possible All-Ireland. A high proportion of athletes running in this Munster competition are well known club runners. In the 100m junior race event, Emma Bonnar won gold in a time of 13.7 seconds, followed by Aisling Bonner in 4th place with a time of 14.4s. In the intermediate 100m races, Lucy O’Brien won a bronze medal for Pres Thurles. In the senior category for the 100m, Olga Maher won silver with a time of 14s. For the 400m senior race event, Ella Moloney placed 3rd, winning a bronze medal. In the 800m race event, Emma Delaney and Lucy O’Brien both placed 3rd and won bronze medals. Kate Delaney took bronze in the 1500m race event in the junior category. For the relay events, we had teams running in the 4 x 100 metres and 4 x 300 metres. In the 4 x 100 junior relay race, our team which comprised of Emma Bonnar, Aisling Bonnar, Emma Delaney and Tara Moquet, made a strong start to the race and won the gold medal. In the senior 4 x 100 metre senior relay event Olga Maher, Emer Dwan, Sophie Maher and Roisin Hickey placed second and won the silver medal. Our last relay of the day was the 4 x 300 metres. Our team members Cathy Ryan Dundon, Kate Ralph, Ella Moloney and Rebecca O’ Mara worked incredibly hard throughout the different baton exchanges and they were rewarded with a silver medal. We are very proud of all of our competitors. Twelve girls have now progressed to the Munster stages. We would just like to wish our athletes and teams the very best, when they compete in their various events in the Munster Track and Field in Castleisland, Co. Kerry on May 20th. Go n-éirí an t-ádh libh. Thanks to Mr Stephen Maher and Mr Jack Corbett for travelling with the girls.
