Pres Thurles are Senior A Munster Soccer Champions

Pres Thurles are Senior A Soccer and Junior B Camogie Munster Champions!

Huge congratulations to our Senior soccer players who have been crowned Munster Senior A Champions after a stunning performance last week against Castletroy College, Limerick. Our girls had an emphatic victory over a very talented team from Castletroy winning this Munster Final by a score line of 10 – 0. A clean sheet with ten super goals from Aoibheann Clancy (5), Grace Flanagan (2) and a goal each from Chloe Shorley, Ciara Shelly and Aoife Shelly. Well done to the whole squad of players and their dedicated coaches, Mr Barry Ryan and Mr Cian Treacy. We are very proud of you all. The girls now march on to the All-Ireland semi-final next month.

A great weekend also for our junior camogie team who beat Colaiste Mhuire Ennis 09-07 in a thrilling game. Well done to the entire squad and their coaches Ms Devane and Mr Treacy.

Grace Flanagan named on Irish U16 Soccer Squad

Congratulations to our 3rd Year student, Grace Flanagan, who has been named in the Irish U16 squad. Grace and her Irish teammates will travel to Portugal next week for an away game. Best wishes to Grace as she progresses with her underage international career.

Numeracy Week in the Pres!

It was Numeracy Week last week here in Pres Thurles, organised by our Numeracy Committee and ably assisted by our TY students. Every student in each year group had the opportunity to get involved in a numeracy moment during the course of the week. TYs had a numeracy orienteering competition around our school grounds. Each day at lunchtime, the numeracy club ran games for the girls. Many whole school competitions were also held. Well done to all involved.

Class fundraise for Irish Motor Neuron Disease Association

Well done to our 3rd Year CSPE class, Naomh Odhrán, on their brilliant fundraiser, which was held just before Christmas. The girls raised €800 for the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association. Thank you to all who donated so generously and thank you to their teacher, Mr John Flynn, for his guidance and support.
