Pres Thurles are Junior B Camogie Munster Champions!

Massive congratulations to our Junior B Camogie team, who were crowned Munster Champions after a thrilling final in Littleton last weekend. In a pulsating game, our girls fought hard to earn a narrow but well-deserved victory over Coláiste Muire’s talented team from Ennis, Co. Clare. After a slow start out of the blocks, Coláiste Muire lead at the first water break by a point. Once our Pres girls snatched their first point of the game, it was only a matter of time before they notched up further scores and at half time our Pres girls led by a score of 0-5 to 0-2. In the 2nd half, it was all to play for as the Coláiste Muire girls launched a fine comeback. However, with steel grit and determination, our girls fended of the brave challenge and held the lead until the end, finishing with a score line of 0-9 to 0-7. Capping another superb performance in midfield our captain, Kate Ralph, accepted the cup on behalf of our hard-working and spirited Junior Munster Champions! Well done to the whole squad and to their coaches, Mr Cian Treacy and Ms Cáit Devane. Onwards they now march to the All-Ireland Semi-Final in February. We are so proud of you all!

Catholic Schools Week

Catholic Schools Week was celebrated in schools across the country last week from January 23rd – January 30th. The theme for Catholic Schools Week 2022 was: “Catholic Schools: Living Life to the Full”. This was an opportunity to encourage everyone in our school community to start 2022 with optimism, positivity and wellbeing. Our students were invited to contribute examples of when they felt each of the following ‘feel good’ emotions: Calm, Inspired, In Awe, Loved, Joyful, Optimistic, Confident, Kind and Grateful. Each class created an ‘Optimism Shield’, which was then displayed in their rooms. Each shield represents how our students are living their individual lives to the full and can act as a reminder if they need a boost of hope, light and comfort. Many thanks to our RE Department and our Wellbeing Co-ordinator for organising all of the different activities and displays for this special week in our school.

Survival in the Wild - TY Trip

Our TY students had a terrific day out in the wild last week! The girls spent the day in Glengarra Woods going back to the bare basics and learning how to survive outdoors. A big ‘Thank You’ to Ms Glascott, Ms Rapaport and Ms Kelly Hackett for travelling with the girls. A great day was had by all.
