Pres Thurles News!

Recently, our Junior Camogie team had their second group game of the season, which was played in Bandon against Presentation Bandon. It was a fiercely contested game with the girls pulling off a fine performance to seal the victory. The game finished on a score line of 6-8 (26) to 3-11 (20). Well done to all team members and their coaches, Mr Colin Doyle and Mr David Maher.

Well done to our Senior Camogie team, who had a comprehensive victory over Clonakilty with a score line of 4-8 (20) to 0-6 (6). Congratulations to all involved and to their mentors, Mr Cian Treacy and Ms Cáit Devane.

Our 1st and 2nd Years also had a great victory over our next door neighbours, Ursuline Thurles.

Our Senior and Cadette B Basketball teams played against fellow Pres rivals, Presentation Ballingarry, recently. Our Cadettes ran out 28 – 9 winners and our Seniors were defeated by a score of 17 – 36. Well done to all involved and to their coaches, Martin Hehir and Sinéad Phillips.

TY Orienteering

Our Transition Year students had a great day last week orienteering in Templemore Park. A huge ‘Thank You’ to South East Viking Orienteering for organising such a fun and challenging day for our TYs. #tyinaction

Climate Action Week

Congratulations to the winners of our Climate Action Week poster competition. There were some excellent entries, all of which are on display in our assembly hall. The fantastic artwork highlighted how to be more environmentally conscious. Our winners were Kelly Ferncombe (1st Year), Oliwia Witkowska (2nd Year), Sofia Zaharova (1st Year) and Maria Victoria Di-Girolamo Kajaruk (2nd Year). Well done to all involved and to the Green Schools Team with their mentor, Ms Susan King.

Halloween Fancy Dress

On the day of the Midterm holidays, we held ‘Dress-up Friday’ for students and staff alike. Everybody in the school community was encouraged to come to school in fancy dress – either in their favourite Halloween costume or as their favourite historical character. A Historical Fancy Dress competition was held by the 1st Year History teachers. Congratulations to our 1st Year winners on the day and well done to everyone who made a huge effort to dress up.
