A Musical Evening in Pres Thurles

Wednesday, May 11th – Save the date everybody! Presentation Secondary School Thurles presents a Musical Evening. We have a riveting showcase of talent on display with beautiful performances from many renowned and much-loved musicals by our students. It will take place in our school’s assembly hall and it will be a ticket-only event. Tickets need to be booked in advance. Tickets are now on sale at break times and lunchtimes in our school assembly hall. Alternatively, you can call our office number at (0504) 21783. Ticket numbers are limited and they are selling fast, so purchase your ticket tomorrow to guarantee your seat. Check out our social media pages for further updates. Turas Idirbhliana go Corca Dhuibhne

Chuaigh ár ndaltaí idirbhliana go dtí Gaeltacht Chorca Dhuibhne ag an deireadh seachtaine seo caite. Bhuail ár gcailíní le dealbh Fungie! Thug said cuairt ar an Díseart agus d’fhoghlaim siad faoi shaol Nano Nagle, a bhunaigh Clochar na Toirbhirte. Bhí craic agus ceol acu le daltaí ó Mheánscoil na Toirbhirte, Droichead Átha, Co. na Lú ag an gCéilí i Halla Cheann Trá. Ar an dara lá, bhí siad go léir fé dhraíocht ar thuras Chinn Sléibhe; An Fear Marbh; Na Blascaodaí, An Gallarus agus iontaisí na farraige sa Mhara Beo i nDaingean Uí Chúis. Chaith gach éinne an tr áthnóna cois trá ag crú ne gréine, le canadh is rince na scuaibe. Míle buíochas do na múinteoirí a chuaigh go Ciarraí lenár ndaltaí. Minor Munster Final - Hockey

Hard luck to our Minor Hockey team who were defeated after a titanic battle in their Munster Final last week against St Augustine, Dungarvan. Our girls have had a brilliant season and will be roaring ready for the Junior Cup next year. We are very proud of each and every one of you. Thanks to the girls’ dedicated coaches, Ms Marie Flanagan and Ms Kora Kerrane, for their hard work and support.

Sports Star nomination for Pres Thurles student

Congratulations to our 3rd Year student, Grace Flanagan, who has been nominated for Tipp FM’s Sports Star of the month award. Grace has had an exceptional year with our school and representing her club, Cork City FC and her country. Best wishes to Grace from everyone at Presentation Thurles.

All-Ireland Soccer Final beckons for Pres Thurles

Best wishes to our U17 Junior soccer team who will take on Scoil Mhuire from Buncrana, Co. Donegal in the All-Ireland Final in Oriel Park, Dundalk on Thursday, May 12th at 2.30 p.m. Go n-éirí go geal libh, a chailíní!

East Munster’s Track and Field Event

Well done to all of our athletes who competed in the East Munster’s Track and Field championships in Waterford RSC. Plenty of silverware was won by the girls and they will now compete in the Munster championship in Templemore. Maith sibh, a chailíní!

National Grand Final for Money Smarts

On Wednesday, May 4th 2022, four 6th Year students competed in the Bank of Ireland Money Smarts Grand Final hosted online by Lottie Ryan and James Patrice. Our girls topped their regional heat back in March coming first out of 85 teams. In advance of Wednesday’s final, each member received a swag box containing a BoI hoodie, a water bottle and a €50 voucher. Our team competed against eleven other teams with questions ranging from financial topics and calculations to entrepreneurs, EU and economic style questions. Although our girls were unsuccessful on the day, we are very proud of their achievements in reaching the National Final. The students involved were Áine Bowe, Sarah Bergin, Sarah O’Donnell and Ruby McEvoy. Well done, girls, and thanks to their teacher, Ms Elaine Corbett, for her guidance and support.
